Dear Members,
As you know, I have been in the current premises for three years.
After a lot of consideration, I have decided not to renew my lease there.
Teaching there has been a labour of love, but it is expensive to run a full time place, and unfortunately, it is not possible to cover the bills without teaching a lot of classes per week, and frankly, there are not enough students to make
it work.
This summer I have been doing a lot of filming for my new online classes, and I am looking forward to making that available to everyone (I will teach the entire curriculum of Tai Chi and Hap Ga in a structured, graded program.)
I am still around Penarth, and would be happy to teach privately by appointment. Drop me a message if you want to book a private lesson, or you can share an hour with someone to reduce the cost (2 people working independently
with me teaching/correcting)
Private tuition is absolutely the best way to learn, as I tailor the lesson specifically to you- rather than trying to get a whole group to learn together, when people may be struggling with different things. You learn at your own pace, and we spend as long as you need to 'get it' before moving on to the next move.
Another more economical option is to do the online lessons with an occasional '1 to 1' private to go over what you
have been working on, and help you pick up the details. The first 3 levels of the program should be ready online at the end of next month.
I know some of you will be disappointed that the classes will not resume next term, and I have been wrestling with this for a few weeks now.
I intend to go to China in November to train with my Sifu for a while, so I am looking forward to that, getting recharged, and coming back to share what I
learn.
I hope you have been practising over the summer, and continue to get the benefits of these beautiful arts. I salute your journey in Tai Chi or Hap Ga, and I wish you continued progress and good health!
Sifu.
